The Early Season so Far

The English Premier League is throwing up some surprises. Man United, after all that spending are firing blanks. Sterile possession, with endless backward and sidewards passing, is not the answer.

Excellent players handcuffed by an overly cautious playing style. They have scored just 1 second half goal in 4 games this season. United and Liverpool share the record for the lowest goals per game avg (1.25) this season.

Man City look fantastic. Scoring goals for fun, they have yet to concede this season, scoring 10. Champions elect, so early in the season ?

Chelsea look out of sync. They have conceded 9 goals in 4 games. Only Sunderland have conceded more.

Interesting to note how few home wins have been recorded. The EPL has 23% home wins. Belgium and Italy lead the way at 60%

In the Bundesliga, Stuttgart already look to be in trouble. After three beatings to start the season, they will welcome the Internationals break and regroup. They have conceded 3 or more goals in each of these three games (two games at home). Strangely enough Munchen Gladbach are in a similar position, also losing their first 3 games.

The usual suspects of Dortmund and Bayern Munich will probably dominate here. Dortmund looking rejuvenated. They have won 6 home games in a row (incl last season). Leverkusen also looking very good at home winning 7 straight home games.

Serie A is also generating shock results. Juventus losing their 1st two games. Carpi look overmatched and probably strong relegation candidates.

Is this Roma's year ?

The Eredivisie shows similar contenders. Ajax also off to a great start, winning their first four games. All these wins are TO-NIL, and 3 of them have been HT/FT win/win. They look dominant.

De Graafschap have lost four games in a row. They have scored just once, and have conceded ten goals. Warning signs for them already.

The Championship shows its typical toughness. Its a very tough league, highly competitive. Heard something on Skysports that said it was the 5th highest spending league in Europe in the transfer window. The financial rewards of reaching the EPL are huge !

Brighton have started very well, with 4 wins in 5 games. Rotherham are on the other end of the chart, losing 4 of their first 5 games.

Derby County showing signs of Mclarens departure, and a backlash of not reaching the EPL last season. Bolton really struggling, scoring just once in five games.

This is the 4th version of the software. My feeling is that it will defnitely produce stronger results. The backtesting and forward testing was very strong.

The software is selecting about 200 games in a season, or about 7% of all games analysed. It is off to an excellent start with

12 WINS and 4 LOSSES.

This is better than expected, simply because the early part of the season is so tough. The Bundesliga leads the way in over 2.5 goal games (67%) while the French Lig 1 has the lowest over 2.5 goal percentage (35%).

Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and March are the months to win big.

Teams are settled, and the big squaded teams have a huge advantage. They can replace players almost like-for-like. ie Man United can rotate Scheiderlin and Schweinstieger, Herrera and Mata. This helps reduce both mental and physical fatigue, and lets players recover from slight niggles and injuries.

This leads to higher consistency of performance, and means more consistent outcomes in games, with more winning bets.
Our stats cover the following leagues -

English Premier   Spain Laliga    Italy Serie A   Holland Eredivisie  Portugal Supaliga  Belgium Pro   German Bundesliga 1   Scottish Premier   English Championship   Turkey Supaliga.

Soccer-betbrain is running over /under 2.5 goal software on all the leagues covered. This year I am using the 4th version of the software. I am expecting it to have a higher WIN-RATE than previous versions.

In previous versions of the software, I had a lower limit cutoff (ie. game with odds below 1.5 were not included). This version of the software includes all games. The results of the software will be posted below. There is no B_llS__t. It reflects what the software likes, unabridged.

My advice would be to analyse the games the software likes. Use it as an excellent starting point for the weeks betting.

Some common sense should also be applied. Personally I would'nt touch Real Madrid in any bets for a month. There is a massive difference between Rafa Benitez, Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho, and the results will reflect this.

In back testing (2013/2012/2011/2010) the software selected 6-7% of the games in the 10 leagues covered each season. So a seasons batch of selections should be about 200 games. Both over 2.5 goal and under 2.5 goal selections are made. Some leagues are better suited for over betting while others work better for under 2.5 goals.

The software does not consider Managerial changes ...

Just understand that you are basing your EARLY SEASON bets on last years stats. The worst months for betting are AUGUST and MAY. August is just a settling in period, while May brings mid-table safety and complacency. You make your betting money in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and March !

Sometimes money saved is money you don't have to win back later !

There are also terrific stats analysis tools that will help you make better betting decisions. Top tools include ;
