This is time to reflect back on what you did during the 2016/2017 season.

What betting mistakes did you make ?

Taking to many legs in a bet ?
Trying to make up losses ?
Betting to much of your bankroll ?
Betting emotionally ?
To many low priced (below 5 to 10) away winners ?

You need to be totally honest with yourself. The more you know and understand why you do things the stronger you will become.

Start developing your betting plan for next season.

Bankroll, strategy, tools, websites that will help you. The more knowledge and understanding you have, the better your chances of a profitable season !

The top 6 teams in the English Premier League

The huge financial resources in the EPL means that the top teams have money to burn. The problem is that the other teams in Europe know this and are charging them a premium for new players.

Man City

How good is Pep ? Another season of relative failure and people will start asking this question more often. It is all well and good to win in Spain, but you only have to finish ahead of Real Madrid. In Germany, you win the league by buying your closest opposition's best players before the season starts.

In the EPL it is not so easy. Man United, Chelsea have equal (or bigger) financial power, while Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham also have ammunition to purchase talent. Buy who you like, but you can only play 11 of them at any one time !

Man United

United did not score enough goals last season. Too slow, no injection of pace... So how will they solve this problem ? In my opinion they need Eric Dier, or Matic far more than Ivan Perisic. Perisic and Martial are like for like.

They need a rock solid holding midfielder, or defensive midfielder, who will allow Pogba more freedom. You cannot pay 85 million pounds for a player and then shackle him with defensive duties. His area has to be higher up the field, adding sharpness to the spear ! For United to be winners this season Pogba needs to easily beat a LEAGUE double/double. At least 12 goals and 12 assists !

Tottenham would be crazy to sell a direct rival a solution to their problems ! After being gazumped by Man United regarding Lukaku, Chelsea will not sell either. So United have a big problem here, because Fellaini will not get this job done, against quality opposition. Mourinho wanted 4 new players and he only has 2. The most important piece is still missing ...

Liverpool looked good at times last season. But they dropped too many points against teams they were expected to beat. Will they rectify the problem this season ? They look a central defender short. Their squad looks a little thin, and again, they will be relient on Coutinho and Mane staying fit and healthy. They are just lacking that little bit of depth to challenge for the title.

Having just retained Conte for another two years, they look good. However, a relacement for Costa is needed, and quick ! Real Madrid will play the same upitty stakes game with them, and I don't think Morata will be coming. The big question is who arrives to fill Costa's boots and when ? Man United grabbing Lukaku was a torpedo in the engine room. They have more questions than answers at the moment.

Wenger has the cash, but he looks like the millionaire buying things off the second hand rail. Always looking for a bargain, and forgetting that real quality costs money ! Where is the defining signing, that will give everyone a boost and get the squad fired up ?

In my opinion, send Sanchez somewhere else. He is a money grabber with no loyalty. Seriously, how much money do you need ? If you are earning 8 million a year, does another 2 make any difference ? Honestly, it is disgusting !

In addition they will have a lot of so-so Thursday Europa games, with Saturdays off and Sundays ON. It will be very disruptive, and probably demotivating ! I see a season of discontent ahead, with a toxic atmosphere developing early.....AGAIN !

Can Spurs make it 3rd time lucky ? I don't think so. The squad is a little thin, and I think they struggle with the Champions League again. They have done really well, but don't have the financial might to win the EPL ! They are also burdend with building a new stadium and the austerity measures that it will bring on.

Predictions will start last week of July 2017

They will look like the examples below

Hamburg v Wolfsburg #1 Pick

Wow, relegation to be decided by a winner takes all last day clash. Neither team can play for a draw here. Hamburg have to win ! No other result will save them. Their away form in the Bundesliga has been disgusting this season. But at home they have been OK, just a poor 1-3 result to Darmstadt really hurting them.

Home Win - Odds 2.7

Celtic v Hamilton #2 Pick

Celtic are just so dominant in the Scottish Premier League. They could probably play games without a goalkeeper and still win. They have been NO to both teams to score in 9 of their last 10 home games. They win almost every game at home. Odds of 1.67 are pretty good for this bet, but the Celtic win to NIL at 1.73 is probably a better option.

NO BTTS --- Odds 1.67

Liverpool v Crystal Palace#3 Pick

This is another excellent opportunity for Palace. They can play a defensive game, frustrate the opponent, and bomb forward on the break, and at set pieces. Palace definitely have the weapons to hurt teams. They have pace and skill, and are really a mid-table team, that has underperformed.

There is absolutely no value on the Liverpool win here (odds 1.53). If Palace can beat Chelsea and Arsenal, they can definitely cause an upset against Liverpool.

Away Win - Odds 6.5

Rotherham v Ipswich#4 Pick

Both teams are struggling for 1st half goals. Rotherham have scored just 1 goal in their last 8 1st half games at home. Ipswich have just 2 goals in 7 away games. These 1st half goal numbers, should also translate into an under 2.5 goal game.

HT 0-0 - Odds 3.25

Lyon v Metz #5 Pick

Amazingly Lyon have not drawn a 1st half in the league at home in 10 games. They have won 8 of their last 10 1st half games at home. They are up against a really poor travelling team in Metz. Metz have lost 5 of their last 6 1st half games on the road. They have scored just 1 goal in 6 away games. The HT/FT home win looks good here.

Home Win HT/FT --- Odds 1.8
